Dr. Michael Harbus is an interventional pain management specialist who is double board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He graduated from Amherst College where he was an American Studies major and was captain of the cross-country team. He received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the prestigious Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Following this, he did a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Harbus has authored several book chapters, has given presentations at national conferences, and was lead editor of A Case Based Approach to Neck Pain.
Dr. Harbus believes in tailoring his treatment plan to the individual needs of his patients. He incorporates a broad-range of non-interventional and interventional techniques to help patients improve functionally and return to a pain-free life. Included among these techniques are the following: epidural steroid injections, joint injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation and neuromodulation.
