Englewood, NJ’s Center for Musculoskeletal Disorders, a pioneer in spine surgery, has performed the world’s first ever robotic-guided sacroiliac fusion in an outpatient ambulatory setting with the assistance of Mazor Robotics Technology.
Under the guidance of CMD’s Dr. Vagmin Vora and Jonathan Lewin, Saddle Brook, NJ’s HealthPlus Surgery Center hosted a 45-year-old patient who had been injured in a work accident. Using minimally invasive techniques to place three titanium implants, Dr. Vora noted, “We are thrilled to be participating in this sophisticated advancement combining robotic guidence, minimally invasive surgery, and outpatient medicine. We believe this will soon be the standard of care for the surgical treatment of this pathology.”

The patient left the ambulatory center 4 hours after the procedure.
